The Fiske Guide to Colleges 2003

If there is
only one guide you can afford to buy, then Fiske should be the one.
This essay-style guide provides interesting information and evaluating for
three hundred of the most selective and most interesting undergraduate
colleges. You will find ratings on each college and the SATs required to
get in. The essays about the campus environments help you to get a feel
for the different campus cultures as soon as you read about several
colleges. The three hundred selective colleges in this guide represent the
top 10 percent of the America's colleges.
The
Insider's Guide to the Colleges 2003

This is a
book that is published by students for students. It is student-biased, and
it's definitely the next best thing to being there. College life and
environment are the most crucial components of the college: if you don't
fit in, you won't stay. The combination of educator Fiske and
student's Insider's is worth twenty visits to the college campus.
You can be sure to get an idea of "what it's like" to be on the campus
from this guide.
College Handbook 2003
This is one
of the most accurate and up-to-date "big" college guides available. The
College Board collects the data each year, including which SAT tests are
required by each college, from its own membership. (This book was just
released).
